The first rule you need to be familiar with when choosing a cordless drill is this simple fact-the battery you choose to power this tool will ultimately determine the strength and torque you will get. Obviously, the higher the voltage of the battery, the more power you can expect to get from your cordless drill. While this seems to be very exciting option, there are tradeoffs to be made with a higher voltage cordless tool. There is the burden of additional cost and additional weight if you are going for a higher voltage solution for your drilling needs.
The battery chemistry has 3 types: NiCad, NiMH, and Lithium-ion. NiCad, or NiCd, battery is used in older cordless drill tools. They are the least expensive, so almost all inexpensive cordless tools use this type of battery. There is one problem with this battery. It's toxic to the environment. So when it's time to dispose the dead NiCd battery it's a problem.
Why is this important? If you have a relatively new PC the only problem you will get are error messages relating to the clock on start up. No big deal. If your PC is older then a low battery could be a nightmare. I had a PC which once lithium stocks copyright every few months refused to boot. Rather than take the PC in for repair or start replacing parts myself the first thing I did was look at the BIOS settings. It was soon obvious that the BIOS settings were corrupt (wrong bus speed). I put a volt meter on the battery and sure enough it was reading 2.2 volts.
2) Battery freshness: often overlooked. Always make sure you have the freshest battery possible. A battery can lose it's ability to hold a charge as time goes on. You want batteries that move off of shelves quickly to be sure they aren't old.
Obviously, ICE are powered by the gasoline you buy when you fill up at a gas station. The electric motor/generator is powered by a large (and by large, I mean large and heavy) Lithium battery stocks pack. If you use a Lithium mines Ontario ion battery make sure it doesn't come in contact with other metals, as the ions might be disturbed leading to a defective battery. Jarring a battery by dropping your cell phone can cause damage even if the phone looks unharmed. Extreme weather conditions can also spoil batteries. Heaters, ovens, stoves and other hot items can cause a battery to overheat or melt. As with other electronic equipment, cell phones should never get wet. This directly affects the circuit and the battery and causes them to rust.
There are also cheap cellphone batteries that don't deliver the goods. They may be cheap for reasons that are clear and this is because they are not of good quality.
